Composite Resin Restorations
Composite resin restorations, also known as white fillings, are often employed nowadays, whether to replace old restorations or to repair cavities.
The dentist has available to him/her a palette of composite resin tints which allow to perfectly match the color of your teeth so that the restoration can be invisible. Composite resins are also very often used to improve the shape of a tooth or to repair a broken or stained tooth, especially in the front of the mouth.
Due to the material’s inherent characteristics, composite resins cannot be employed in very extensive repairs. In such cases, a porcelain crown needs to be employed.
Composite resin restorations are very strong, but like many dental treatments, they need to be replaced after a number of years, depending on the size of the restoration and of the tooth itself. This will be evaluated by your dentist during your routine check-ups.Photos of before and after cosmetic treatments were removed from the site for privacy reasons.
